Class Evaluation

Please give me some feedback on my teaching, the class and the room. I'll use the information to improve the next class!

Here's the handout:

This toothpick sculpture was a quick project to experiment with different materials. I made a sort of container that has a pile of toothpicks, or branches, balancing on it in a very lopsided way.

This mixed media project was made out of three different sizes of wire along with some hemp string. I had also added a small shell and stone. There are shapes in the sculpture that were inspired by the patterns on the shell that I was inspired by.

Made of aluminum wire and white string.

Just to be clear- the sculpture final exam presentations will take place on TUESDAY, January 31st during the "B" block exam time.

Monday is a department clean up time and we would not have enough time to include presentations that day.

After viewing the work of Richard Deacon, posted here, begin creating your own mixed media project....

Here is the handout:

Richard Deacon's work with materials

Deacon (b1949 in Wales) is known for his minimalist sculptures using simple materials with very high craft.
Look how he uses materials to create LINES in his work.
It's also interesting to see how he responds to the qualities of the materials- steam bending wood strips, or hammering metal, or casting with ceramic...

See more if his work here @ http://www.richarddeacon.net/

"You", made of wood, epoxy, cloth. (sold for close to $30k)

"Band", 2009,  wood, metal bolts.

"Infinity", 2003
